The Courage to Create

At the core of my work as a psychotherapist and spiritual teacher is the abiding belief that each of us is a spiritual and eternal being that has chosen a human experience and its accompanying life lessons. On a very deep spiritual level, I believe that we select the life patterns or themes that will best help us complete the soul’s learning and contribute to the universal and collective knowledge of souls. This belief underlies my psychological and spiritual work with clients.

Growing up as the daughter of military parents stationed in Japan, I began to grapple with the devastating physical and emotional effects of a painful and unpredictable eye condition that would eventually result in blindness. I managed to maintain my sanity and found strength in the love of my parents and the faith of my childhood years—Christianity. Eventually, my faith journey would lead me back to the spiritual ground of my birthplace and Buddhism which has blossomed into a powerful metaphysical spirituality with love, acceptance and peace at its center.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I have essentially two tools at my disposal—who I am and what I know. My rich life experience coupled with knowledge of a variety of counseling modalities allows me to tailor the way that I work with a client to meet his or her unique needs. Over the years, the clients that I am uniquely prepared to work with have been guided to me often through a series of amazing sychronicities—what some people call coincidences. For me, this work goes way beyond diagnosis and treatment, it’s about empowering people to activate the power of their true spiritual identity and stimulating the courage within each of us to create the happiness and prosperity that we so richly deserve.

My life has been a beautiful tapestry of interesting and challenging events, a rainbow of diverse people and philosophies. All of this has been to my immeasurable benefit which I share with my clients and my community. I think of my  life experiences with the understanding that I am creating a human experience that uniquely equips me to partner with people of any walk of life, men and women who courageously seek to create meaning from misfortune and break through to knowledge of their true identity. Our identity is both spiritual and eternal fully endowed with the inner tools necessary to transform any damaging aspect of the human experience into a point of power. This is the heart of The Courage to Create—a program for conscious change and manifestation communicated to me by Spirit over twenty years ago.
